Moon cut is what separates this from a plain bead chain. Each bead is machine-carved with a deep crescent facet, so instead of a single highlight rolling across a smooth sphere you get a row of cut surfaces throwing light in several directions at once. On white gold the effect is closer to a line of small stones than to a chain.
The cutting is done after the beads are formed and strung, which is why the facets align down the length rather than sitting at random angles.

Condition is written up honestly, including the flaws, and any treatment that affects value or care is disclosed in plain language. If a piece does not pass, we do not sell it as something it is not.
