No box, no papers, still sellable.

Missing box and papers is the most common worry we hear, and it is usually a smaller factor than sellers expect.

What it actually costs you

On most modern references, a full set commands a premium of roughly 5–15% over a watch-only example in the same condition. It is real, but it is not the difference between sellable and unsellable. We buy watch-only examples constantly.

When it matters more

On sought-after and vintage references, provenance carries more weight, and an original punched warranty card or a matching box can move the number considerably. Reference-specific — worth asking about yours.

What matters more than packaging

Originality of the watch itself. An unpolished case, correct hands and dial, an original bezel insert and a movement that has not been swapped are all worth more than a cardboard box.

What not to do

Do not buy a replacement box or a generic warranty card to make up a set. It is obvious to anyone who authenticates watches, and it turns a straightforward transaction into a suspicious one.
